OUR APPROACH HELPING ATHLETES PERFORM AT THEIR BEST

Every athlete is different. Some want to strengthen their mental game, develop greater confidence, and perform more consistently under pressure. Others discover that challenges with anxiety, perfectionism, self-confidence, or managing emotions affect not only their performance but other areas of their lives.

At Mind’s Eye Sports Performance, we recognize that athletes are people first. Our approach combines an understanding of the mental demands of sports with the broader perspective of clinical psychology.

We offer two ways to work with athletes: individualized sports psychology sessions and our structured Mind’s Eye Sports Performance Development Program.

Both approaches focus on helping athletes develop the mental skills to perform well, navigate challenges, and enjoy their sport.

Individual Sports Psychology Sessions

Success in sports involves more than physical ability. Confidence, focus, emotional resilience, and the ability to manage pressure all influence how athletes perform.

Individual sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen these mental skills while also exploring challenges that may extend beyond sports. Anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, relationships, and other personal concerns can affect an athlete’s confidence and enjoyment of their sport.

Drawing on my background in clinical and sports psychology, I work with athletes to better understand these challenges, develop healthier patterns of thinking, and build practical skills they can use both in competition and everyday life.

Sessions are tailored to the individual athlete and begin with an initial appointment to discuss their experiences, concerns, and goals.

Mind's Eye Sports Performance Development Program

For athletes who want to take a more structured approach to improving their mental game, the Mind’s Eye Sports Performance Development Program offers a personalized process for identifying strengths, understanding challenges, and developing the mental skills that support consistent performance.

The program begins with a consultation involving the athlete and, when appropriate, their parents. We discuss the athlete’s experiences, goals, and expectations, and explain how the program works.

The program includes an individualized assessment to better understand the athlete’s strengths, personality, and approach to competition. Together with our conversations, this information helps me develop a personalized performance plan that identifies opportunities for growth and practical strategies for improving their mental game.

We then meet for a 90-minute feedback session to review the plan in detail, discuss the findings, and help the athlete understand how to put these strategies into practice.

The program also includes two individual mental skills training sessions, where we work together to develop and practice strategies for strengthening confidence, focus, composure, and other important mental skills.

The goal is not simply to help athletes perform better, but to help them better understand themselves, approach competition with greater confidence, and enjoy their sport.
